Rules for Project Registration and Carbon Credit Issuance

Criteria for considering carbon credit certification

The project has been registered as a T-VER project and has begun to operate. The project developer must follow up (Monitoring) the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions as proposed in the project proposal document (PDD) and prepare a monitoring and evaluation report (Monitoring). Report) and arrange for an external assessor (VVB) to verify. (Verification) the amount of greenhouse gases that can be reduced/stored from the project. After that, the project developer must collect project documentation to send to the TGO to request certification of the amount of greenhouse gases (carbon credits) "TVERs".

The TGO has set 4 criteria for considering and certifying the amount of greenhouse gases as follows:

  1. It is a project that carries out activities in accordance with relevant laws or regulations and operates in accordance with the guidelines for developing voluntary greenhouse gas reduction projects according to Thailand's standards.
  2.  Follow up on the results of greenhouse gas reduction or storage and collect data on the Premium T-VER project as specified in the project proposal document (Project Design Document: PDD) that has been applied for registration as a Premium T-VER project.
  3. The amount of greenhouse gases required for carbon credit certification must be calculated according to the voluntary greenhouse gas reduction methodology as presented in the project proposal document (Project Design Document: PDD).
  4. The Monitoring Report and Non-permanence Risk Report (if any) must be verified by VVB that are registered by the Commission.

 

The project developer must submit an application and project documentation to request certification of greenhouse gas emissions (carbon credits) to the TGO as follows:

1. Application for certification of greenhouse gas emissions 1 set
2. Report on monitoring and evaluating the amount of greenhouse gases (Monitoring Report: MR) (verified by external assessors) 1 set
3. Verification Report (VVB is issued) 1 set
4. Excel file for calculating the amount of greenhouse gas emissions of the project 1 set
5. disc or data recording device (In case of sending by post) 1 set
