Crediting period

Single Project and Bundling project

(a) Project type number 1-12 and number 13 limited to methane or nitrous oxide reduction activities from agriculture, shall have a crediting period of 5 years and may be renewed up to 2 additional terms.

(b) Projects involving the reduction, absorption, and removal of greenhouse gases from the forestry and agriculture sectors, as well as projects involving the capture, storage, and/or utilization of greenhouse gases, shall have a crediting period of 15 years. However, where the applicable methodology specifies a crediting period, the period defined in the methodology shall apply. Such projects may be renewed up to two additional terms.

The crediting start date of the renewed project shall be the day immediately following the end date of the crediting period specified in the Project Design Document.

Programme of Activities (PoA) shall be a period of the project framework as follows:

i) Project Types 1–12 shall have a crediting period of 20 years.

ii) Project Type 13, limited to methane and/or nitrous oxide reduction activities from agriculture, shall have a crediting period of 20 years.

iii) Project Type 13, other than those specified in item (ii), and Project Type 14 shall have a crediting period of 60 years.

iv) Project Type 15 shall have a crediting period for the Programme of Activities as prescribed by TGO.

Component Project Activities (CPA) under the Programme of Activities (PoA) has a due date as follows:

i) Project Types 1–12 shall have a crediting period of 5 years.

ii) Project Type 13, limited to methane and/or nitrous oxide reduction activities from agriculture, shall have a crediting period of 5 years.

iii) Project Type 13, other than those specified in item (ii), and Project Type 14 shall have a crediting period of 15 years.

iv) Project Type 15 shall have a crediting period as prescribed by the Board’s Notification.

Upon expiration of the crediting period of a Component Project Activity (CPA), the CPA may be renewed up to two additional terms. The crediting period of the CPA shall not extend beyond the crediting period of the Programme of Activities (PoA).
